Cards and Presents for Prisoners and Those in Reentry

Stepping Stones Gathering (a program associated with St. Joan’s Chapel) is working to support prisoners and those in reentry this holiday season. Seventeen volunteers already wrote and mailed hundreds of Christmas Cards to inmates in county jail and state prison (supported by St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church). Cards that had glitter or foil are not allowed in jail, so those cards went to people in reentry and recovery. Today, the Rev. Dr. Bertram Nagarajah and volunteers distributed dozens of gifts to inmate families with children (through the Angel Tree program, hosted by St. Thomas Episcopal Church). Some of these families are unhoused.
